Informs Webb that his replacement, Major General Abercrombie will be setting out for Plymouth soon and so Webb can return to England via the "Packet Boat novo (?) at Falmouth, will in all Probablility, make your Passage three Weeks sooner, than if you go with the Transport & their Convoy..." Refers to a Captain Creghan as "the Person, upon whom the Suspicion & I think with most Reason, lights." Gives reminders to bring back warrants and that Shirley will also be coming back to England. Noted as a copy and private in the upper left hand corner. Gilt edges and watermarked with a fleur-de-lis, V, backward C, I and VI.
