Our Collection

At the Institute’s core is the Gilder Lehrman Collection, one of the great archives in American history. More than 85,000 items cover five hundred years of American history, from Columbus’s 1493 letter describing the New World through the end of the twentieth century.

Sylvia is concerned that Moe is kept informed of current issues and hopes he is receiving the subscription to PM that she sent to him. Talks about what is going on in Congress. Was supposed to go out today [Saturday] and hand out leaflets to the public about the $60.00 increase this year for Department of Welfare employees. The leaflets were never given to her; and it was too cold to go out and distribute them anyway.
