Inside the Vault on Thursday, January 6: Washington’s Crossing of the Delaware River

From iconic historical treasures, such as the Declaration of Independence, the US Constitution, and the Emancipation Proclamation, to personal letters that reveal the contributions of ordinary American citizens, each session investigates primary sources and features a discussion with expert historians and curators about the documents’ background, impact, and potential use in the classroom.

Join us for Inside the Vault: Washington’s Crossing of the Delaware River on January 6, 2022, from 7:00 to 8:00 p.m. ET (4:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. PT) when our curators discuss George Washington’s crossing of the Delaware River on December 25-26, 1776, and the Battle of Trenton with Dr. Phillip Hamilton. We will be discussing Washington’s orders to his troops and General Henry Knox’s first-hand account of the crossing and the battle.
