Writes to "lay before you a general state of our present circumstances, in order for Your impartial advice." Lists lands as well as buildings and structures on the lands, as well as their values. Considers in particular the worth of a glass manufactory. Discusses how best to set up his finances for his family, as he is getting old; mentions the possibility of moving to Boston and setting up a business there. Asks extensive questions of the addressee regarding his debts, and expounds upon what each member of his family thinks he should do about his financial situation.
