All of the delegates at the Constitutional Convention owned enslaved individuals and therefore made sure not to leave any room for the abolition of slavery.

Because the Declaration of Independence was also a structurally “pro-slavery” document.

The Third Amendment in the Constitution is what makes the document pro-slavery as it states, “No Soldier shall, in time of peace be quartered in any house, without the consent of the Owner.”

The three-fifths clause in the Constituion is what made the document pro-slavery and gave slave states an electoral advantage in the federal government.
