Our Collection

At the Institute’s core is the Gilder Lehrman Collection, one of the great archives in American history. More than 85,000 items cover five hundred years of American history, from Columbus’s 1493 letter describing the New World through the end of the twentieth century.

Sends an enclosed paper (not included) with an unspecified request from one of Robbin's friend, which involves a payment of some sort. Discusses local Revolutionary War pensions, noting that many people have received their pensions and asking if Hobart can do anything to send the certificate of pension for Benjamin Richards, William Robbins, and Solomon Bartlett. Also, discusses "the Importance of the Mackerel fishery bounty Bill." Mentions the death of their probate judge and possible successors.
