My Dear Wall,
We arrived safely in Columbus, found a good supper nearly ready-[inserted: the company] spent the night in the State House and came into camp & cooked their own dinner-
The Company is recorded as Co. A. 42nd Regt. and will be mustered into service tomorrow.
The Governor is not at home but I will attend to the appointments as soon as he returns. I hope & believe there will be no trouble in securing the post for you-
I feel badly in regard to the horse. I hope you will not think me in any way hard of me, but I am anxious to have as many good qualities as possible combined in the lame
