Writes that he has a wall tent to himself and gives directions for George to come for a visit.

In tent - Monday even'g March 2, '63 Dear All, I have been busy on mus ter Rolls this evening & it is now 10 o'clock I write to have George come right on & make a visit, if you all think best. I should like of exceedingly. My tent was put up to day and as my first Lieut. Elam T. Goodrich has been promoted to Capt. of Co.H. I am again all alone & have a - whole tent to myself -, a wall tent at that. I think George can hardly ever expect a better time than the present. At Baltimore he will have to procure a Provost pass to the Fortress & perhaps he had better get Dr. Fleming or some other of our friends to go to the Provost office with him. If he will write what day he will be at the Fortress I will meet him there & get his pass from the Fortress to this place. If he stayed a day or two in Baltimore he could write me from there, by which boat he was coming & then I shold be sure of meeting him at the Fortress. I do hope he will come. He can bring the razor & razor strap and the Muster-In Roll. As I am now the only officer with Co. B I shall try to get excused from the court Martial. I have no fire in my tent I am getting quite chilly. I am very well. Good night dearest all Afct son & bro Chas Let Geo. ask Mr. Learned what a - civilian - needs to procure Provost passes. Perhaps a note from Gov. Buckingham would assist.
