From iconic historical treasures, such as the Declaration of Independence, the Constitution, and the Emancipation Proclamation, to personal letters that reveal the contributions of ordinary American citizens, each session will investigate primary sources and discuss their background, impact, and potential use in the classroom.

Please join us for Inside the Vault on October 6 at 7 pm ET when our curators will discuss Dwight D. Eisenhower’s views on Vietnam at the end of 1967 and in early 1968 and why his views matter.

We will be looking at excerpts from two documents with Professor Michael J. Birkner of Gettysburg College.

NOVEMBER 3, 2022: NAACAP Pamphlet "Meanwhile Back at the Branch"

Join us on November 3, 2022, from 7:00 to 8:00 p.m. ET (4:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. PT) when our curators will discuss the NAACP pamphlet Meanwhile Back at the Branch with Barbara Combs of Kennesaw State University. This pamphlet details the initiatives of NAACP branches across the country that took place at the same time as the Selma March in 1965. We will examine many of the different ways people across the United States worked to advance equality.
