Partially printed document accomplished by hand. Dean, Ichabod Leonard, Thomas Lincoln, Samuel Stapels, and Abrathor Williams sign as Overseers of the Poor, also called the Selectmen, for Taunton. State that Alvina Traveller, "a black woman an inhabitant of your town" (Middleborough), "has been sick and become chargeable" in Taunton. Taunton charges the expense of Traveller's board and care from 8 January 1816, and requests Middleborough's Selectmen to remove her. Partially printed.
