General U. S. Grant and the Army of the Potomac at Cold Harbor and City Point in 1864. Album of Large photographs all taken in the field by Mathew Brady's studio. The album was assembled by British General Sir Charles Hastings Doyle, who was sent by the British government on a "Confidential" visit to General Grant's headquarters. Doyle was Governor-General of Nova Scotia. With signatures of Grant and other pasted in.
