Convicted of selling liquor without paying tax; sentenced to 6 months imprisonment and to pay a $1000 fine. Pardoned after serving out his prison term by recommendation of A.S. Wallace and the U.S. District Attorney since he was entirely unable to pay the fine. (c/s Hamilton Fish)
