Asks for Robb's assistance in selling 12000 acres of land in Arkansas. Indicates that he co-owns the land with his brother, Joseph E. Davis. Notes that the land has depreciated to less than a fourth its original value. Asks that, "for obvious reasons," his name be withheld from any transaction made.

...It is supposed that the rail road from Memphis to Little Rock will run through a portion of it…The region is most favorable for corn, but is also suited to cotton. When it was entered it was valued at twenty dollars per acre. I would be glad now to get half that price for it, and would even take five dollars per acre if that almost nominal price could be at once obtained. The whole tract is one body and amounts to nearly twelve thousand acres. It is not for obvious reasons well that my name should be known in the transaction. I therefore in the event of any negotiations for a sale refer to my Brother, Joseph E. Davis at Vicksburg, Missi....
