General:
Lt. Call, whom I sent to McMinnville a month since in order to obtain the eight wagons belonging to this division, has just returned, and reports that he has not been able to obtain them. I regret much, General, being obliged to trouble you in this matter but I have made every endeavor in my power and failed. I need these wagons greatly. My Division has not, including these wagons, near the amount of transportation allowed, and you will readily see to what inconvenience I am put to get along without them. I address this letter to you personally, general, because I find I can get assistance in this matter from no one else. I enclose a letter from one of my correspondents in Kentucky. It contains some valuable information. As rapidly as news comes in I will inform it to you. Very respectfully, General,
Your Obt. Servant Jno. H. Morgan Brigadier General
Maj. Gen. Jos. Wheeler Commanding Cavalry Corp
