Our Collection

At the Institute’s core is the Gilder Lehrman Collection, one of the great archives in American history. More than 85,000 items cover five hundred years of American history, from Columbus’s 1493 letter describing the New World through the end of the twentieth century.

An itemized list of all the fees for such actions as "Drawing the Plea" "Fyling the Plea" "Coppy of Plea" "Swearing of Evidence" "Calling 3 Evidences" and also for individuals such as "Bellringer." The name of Charles Lodwik, Mayor, appears below the list of fees. P.2 contains a written note by an unidentified author confirming the receipt of a payment from Robert Livingston.
