Stevenson writes that Robert, Jr.'s enslaved person has just set out to return home, and was unable to leave earlier due to bad weather. He also notes that the enslaved person behaved particularly well while staying in Albany.

Dear Sir
Your [last] of the 25th Ultimo I [Received] by your Negro Tom he returns home to Day, which Exceeds the time you had given him by your Letter, but as he had very bad Weather in Comeing up & did not get here till the third day after the date of your L: I have not Pressed him very hard to go home till yesterday & as he has behaved very well since he has been here I dare say you will Pass it over. My compliments to Mrs. Livingston & Family.
