The image shows one of the "Castle Thunder" buildings in the south. A one-time tobacco factory, this building was the chief Provost Prison for the Confederacy. Standing in front of the prison are three Confederate soldiers. Inscription on verso: "'Castle Thunder' Richmond, Va." Numeric notations on verso: "200" "87" and "71."
