One engraving entitled "Female Patriotism-Mrs. Steele and General Green" dated 1856. Caption notes "take it, you will need it, and I can do without the money." Depicts General Nathanael Green sitting in Mrs. Elizabeth Steele's Kitchen looking troubled after the Battle of Cowpens, South Carolina, January 17 1781. Inkeeper, Mrs. Elizabeth Steele offers General Green money and a hot meal to lift his spirits and support the revolution. On the left a dog sits next to the fireplace. Engraved by J.B. Hall from the original painting by Alonzo Chappel (mispelled Chapple).
