Our Collection

At the Institute’s core is the Gilder Lehrman Collection, one of the great archives in American history. More than 85,000 items cover five hundred years of American history, from Columbus’s 1493 letter describing the New World through the end of the twentieth century.

First part informs Mr. and Mrs. Grégoire that the land survey is now complete and compatible with the financial portion of the business. Noted as dated 29 July 1792. The second part certifies that Henry Jackson has presented and read all of the necessary papers to Mr. and Mrs. Grégoire and that they have received money. Noted as dated 13 July 1792 and signed by Samuel Bradford. Third part certifies that Henry Jackson went with Samuel Bradford to deliver three bonds to Mr. and Mrs. Grégoire and asked for a warranty deed for the contract, signed by Levi Stutson.
