News from La Grange, from Fanny and Camilla Wright about Nashoba, sent to an unknown doctor. Year supplied by Robert Crout. Original owner claimed this letter mentioned the "slow freeing of the blacks."

Paris February 14th

I am sending you, dear doctor, a letter from our friend Pepe that just arrived: he gives me news of the excellent [illegible]. I had recently received some of it from our admirable and my filial friends: Many people, and you too without doubt, scold me for not having brought them. The family La Grange is also sorry about this. But their most tender affections are given to the need to serve the cause of humanity and they are devoted to an experiment of gradually freeing the blacks. We must admire them and resign ourselves to wait for their return. They write to me often and I see with great pleasure that Fanny's health is improving. Good day, my dear doctor, and a thousand wishes for friendship.
