Hopes Thomas can help him peaceably resolve hostilities and disagreements with settlers on and near the Waldo patent. Settlers living on or near his lands have become upset over issues of land ownership, and worries Knox might encroach on their lands, and recently become violent. Knox assures Thomas this is due to misunderstandings, and that he has the settlers best interests in mind. Hopes that Thomas can persuade them of this fact.
