Georgia Senator Gunn writes to Knox to inform him of problems with the Indians in the Southeast. References a previous conversation they had where Knox pledged two companies of troops would arrive in Georgia by April. Says "The death of General McGillivray and the late murders committed by a party of Indians headed by John Galphin makes it necessary that Troops be sent to protect the low country and I am persuaded you will find on inquiry the Troops are badly posted."
