Seymour, Thomas (fl. 1782)
Autograph letter signed
Title: to Richardson Sands
Asks if it is possible for Master Hany to visit during May or June. Indicates that it is especially important because of the losses they have experienced in Groton, Connecticut since he has been gone. Explains that because of these losses, he cannot take on the expense of Hany's trip but hopes Sands can arrange something. Gives love to Mrs. Sands and friends. On September 6, 1781, British forces, commanded by Benedict Arnold, captured Fort Griswold in Groton and massacred 88 of the 165 defenders stationed there.
