Addressed to "Gent." Discusses the necessity of purchasing goods from England by fall, or at a greater expense, purchasing them in the country. Requests a meeting about this issue. Postscript states the letter need not be sent to Mr. Carroll Barrister as he is out of town. Docketed with date and "B:C" on verso.
Carroll, an early advocate of the colonies' separation from England, was a Maryland delegate to the Continental Congress 1776-1778 and a signer of the Declaration of Independence.
