Appointing Jonathan Humphry a lieutenant colonel in the Connecticut militia. Also signed by George Wyllys as secretary. Seal of Connecticut affixed. Partially printed. There were multiple Jonathan Humpries from Simsbury, Connecticut who served during the American Revolution. The Jonathan Humphry who died in 1778 is the author of the letter and the subject of the commission. He was a lawyer.
Jonathan Trumbull was the Governor of Connecticut.
George Wyllys was Secretary of the Colony of Connecticut and the State of Connecticut. He was Hartford Town Clerk from 1732 to 1796.
