Countersigned by Jonathan Cowdney and Cary Ludlow. Certifies that Prevost will pay to Anne Devisme of Paramus New Jersey, 273 pounds, 5 shilling and 6 pence. Autograph note on second page signed by Anne De Visme and dated 12 November 1792 states that she received of Prevost 260 pounds, 19 shillings by the hands of Aaron Burr. Document states that Prevost is of the 60th Regiment (in the British army).

Prevost was a British officer and possibly the son of Theodosia Bartow Prevost Burr from a previous marriage. She married Aaron Burr in 1783 after being widowed. Anne Stillwell Bartow De Visme was Theodosia's mother.

KNOW all MEN by these PRESENTS, that I Augustin Prevost of the Sixtieth Regiment of foot am Held and firmly bound unto Anne Devisme of Paramus in the County of Bergen In the Sum of Two hundred and Seventy three pounds five shillings and Six pence Current Money of the Province of New York To be paid to the said Anne Devisme or to her certain Attorney, Executers, and Administrators, or Assigns: To which Payment well and truly to be made, I do bind myself my Heirs, Executors, and Administrators, - firmly by these Presents. Seal'd with my Seal : Dated the twenty seventh Day of July in the Year of Our Lord One Thousand Seven Hundred and Seventy one and in the Eleventh Year of the Reign of our Sovereign Lord GEORGE the Third, by the Grace of GOD, King of Great-Britain, France, and Ireland, &c.

THE Condition of this OBLIGATION is such, That if the above-bounden Augustin Provost his Heirs, Executors, Administrators, or any of them, shall and do well and truly pay, or cause to be paid, unto the above-mentioned Anne Devisme or to her certain Attorney, Executors, Administrators, or Assigns, the just and full Sum of One hundred and thirty six pounds twelve shillings and Nine pence Current Money aforesaid, on or before the twenty sixth Day of July Next With Lawful Interest without and Fraud or other Delay ; then this Obligation to be void, or else to remain in full Force and Virtue. -
