Our Collection

At the Institute’s core is the Gilder Lehrman Collection, one of the great archives in American history. More than 85,000 items cover five hundred years of American history, from Columbus’s 1493 letter describing the New World through the end of the twentieth century.

Account of the sale of the goods and chattel of the deceased Baen. Lists shirts, stockings, vests, swords, etc., the amount sold for, and to whom they were sold. One listing is for a sword belt sold to William Henry Harrison (listed as Governor Harrison). Prepared by Miller as Baen's administrator.

Harrison was governor of the Indiana territory from 1800-1813.
