Confederate General Humes discusses his request for 1,000 yards of cloth from the Army of Tennessee to distributed for sale among the officers of his division. I recently applied to Genl Beauregard to be allowed to send an A.Q.M. of my Div to the Army of Tenn to get (1,000) one thousand yards of cloth for my command. Agreeably to my application, the order was issued for Capt R.R. Harris to proceed to Columbus, Ga on business connected with his Dept. The officers of my Div are many of them almost destitute of clothing and have never drawn anything from the govt.
I now apply that Genl. Beauregard give Capt

Harris an order upon the issuing Q.M. of the Army of Tenn for (1,000) one thousand yards of cloth to be distributed by sale among the officers of my Division.
