Letter regarding the condition of Aaron's one week old daughter, Virginia, and the improving condition of his wife, Maimie [Mary Frances] who suffered from a severe attack of mastitis shortly after giving birth. After hearing the opinions of "every old woman child & man" about how to treat the disorder, Aaron decided that "all the best authorities" relied on Belladonna and treated his wife with that drug. He believes if he hadn't treated Maimie as quickly as he did, she would have certainly had an abscess in both her breasts. Judging by the detailed analysis of the letter, it would seem Aaron is writing to a person informed in such matters.
