Our Collection

At the Institute’s core is the Gilder Lehrman Collection, one of the great archives in American history. More than 85,000 items cover five hundred years of American history, from Columbus’s 1493 letter describing the New World through the end of the twentieth century.

Scrapbook containing programs, correspondence, and newspaper clippings relating to the variously named Richmond Mozart Association and two or three clippings relating to the death of Joseph R. Anderson, Confederate general and owner of the Tredegar Iron Works. Notation on fly "E. R. Archer from Annie W. Jeffery X mas - 1890". Green leather spine and corners, vertical red and blue marbled boards. "Scrap Book" blind stamped on spine.
