Has just returned from Philadelphia. Reports that the Winslows have arrived at Pluckemin. Borrowed five hundred dollars from Mr. French, commissary, who is traveling to Boston. Instructs William to arrange for the repayment of French (William handled business matters of Henry's). Sends love from his wife, Lucy, and remarks that her things have not yet arrived.

My dear friend
I just recd. your favor of the 27th ultimo. I am just return'd from Philadelphia, and the post much [illegible] has sent me my Letters - he lives 8 miles from here and the man cannot stay a moment therefore shall only say at present - That the Miss Winslows are here and give their love to their brother - That I borrowed five hundred dollars of Mr Trench the Commissary stores who has now gone to Boston, and gave him [2] Mr [Berrylords?] note to payment you will therefore please to get the note from him and deliver it up to Mr Carter and pay Mr Trench the said five hundred Dollars. Give my Love to Mr Peirce & tell him I will write him fully at the first opportunity - Adieu the post rascal will not delay a moment - Lucy is well[.] I give her love to you - her things are not arrivd -
