Extract from the minutes of Congress on the resolution that repealed all previous resolutions on the Department of Commissary General of Military Stores. The minutes were recorded in the War Office and signed by Jackson as Assistant Secretary of War. States that the Secretary of War is from time to time to appoint a Commissary of Military Stores who will be subject to his orders and given a salary of 1000 dollars per year. The Secretary of War is also given authority to appoint as many officers he finds necessary to run the department. Was possibly enclosed with GLC02437.01504. Docket about resolve of Congress in Samuel Shaw's hand.

Resolved,
That. the Act of Congress of the 11. Feby 1778 and all subsequent resolutions so far as they respect the Department of the Commissary General of Military Stores be & they are hereby repealed -
Resolved,
That the Secretary at War be and he is hereby empowered to appoint from time to time a Commissary of military stores who shall be subject to his orders and instructions & shall receive a salary of one - [2] thousand Dollars P. annum -
That the Secretary at War be further empowered, to appoint from time to time so many officers (to be taken from the officers of the Army if agreeable to them) as he may find necessary to superintend the Business in that department -
