Discusses a travelling forge made at the Springfield armory in Massachusetts, which he will be sending to West Point. He is very impressed by how well made it is.

Newburgh Novr. 1. 1783.
Dr Sir,
I have rec.d your favour of [strikeout] yesterday. One of the travelling forges made at Springfield is so extremely well made, & the wheels are so excellent, I think [inserted: it] a pity to sell it. I will send it to the Point to be lodged with the artillery. The others I will sell in the manner proposed.
I thank you for the information relative to the Block-house in the Glove; - it shall be sold.
I am happy to hear that Massachusetts has adopted the [impost] in due form.
I am dear Sir
