[draft]
New York 4th March 1787
My dear Sir
I have just time to acknowledge the receipt of your letter of the 22nd with its enclosure for Governor Clinton.
Mr Williams who is now with me will deliver him this letter.
You will have found that Congress have recommended a convention to meet in Philadelphia in May. I hope and pray that you may be at it, either on the part of the State or the Cincinnati. Apropos of the Cincinnati, I send you wicked burlesque of the Cincin.
I would wish to enlarge but Mr Williams is on the point of setting out with Govr. Clinton.
I am your affectionate
H Knox
Genl Clinton
