Writes to discuss his impoverished lifestyle and complains of the government owing him money. Asks if perhaps Knox can lend him money, and then when Congress settles his debts he will be able to pay Knox back. Back page features various calculations in Knox's hand.
According to Francis B. Heitman's Historical Register of Officers of the Continental Army During the War of the Revolution, Glasbeech was a volunteer aide-de-camp to General Daniel Morgan, and was brevetted captain in the Continental Army 9 March 1781 due to his meritorious service at the Battle of Cowpens.
