Our Collection

At the Institute’s core is the Gilder Lehrman Collection, one of the great archives in American history. More than 85,000 items cover five hundred years of American history, from Columbus’s 1493 letter describing the New World through the end of the twentieth century.

Tells Knox that Wendell's son is visiting from Boston. Asks him to find out the value of the "Lands at Muscongus" as Knox is a "proprietor in the same Tracts of Land." Wendell does not know the value, as he is from upstate New York. Asks Knox what he would be willing to pay for 2500 acres.
