Our Collection

At the Institute’s core is the Gilder Lehrman Collection, one of the great archives in American history. More than 85,000 items cover five hundred years of American history, from Columbus’s 1493 letter describing the New World through the end of the twentieth century.

Reports that he went to Boston to complete the legal business with the Winslow brothers. Found that Samuel has not returned from Philadelphia and says the business will be completed in Beverly next week. There were several issues surrounding the power of attorney the Winslows had for Mr. and Mrs. Wall. Goes into detail about issues related to the Waldo Patent.
