Was disappointed not to receive a letter from Knox yesterday. Reports that the ten proprietors have sued Knox over his bond. Says the sheriff left a summons for Knox at his house, "it being your last place of residence in his County." Reports that the Winslows are also being sued. Has spoken to Judge Sullivan on the subject "who will take care of the business," but suggests Knox write directly to him as well. Mentions that Colonel Tyler has returned from St. Georges, Maine. Has not seen him yet but has been informed that "he has finished the business they had in charge." Sends love to David. "Free" stamped on address leaf with no signature.
