Our Collection

At the Institute’s core is the Gilder Lehrman Collection, one of the great archives in American history. More than 85,000 items cover five hundred years of American history, from Columbus’s 1493 letter describing the New World through the end of the twentieth century.

An agreement made for survey work on the [Waldo patent] land to determine the placement of a road. Streams, rivers, and the condition of the land and soil will also be noted in the survey. The total cost will be seven pounds and eight shillings. See GLC02437.06197 for further information.
