Knox writes, "I have the goodness to deliver Mr. John Davis the deed of relinquishment to the State of other lands, and receive from him the deed of Mr. Thomas Davis to me in behalf of the State." Knox also sends his wife's signature on a paper Peirce had sent to him. Writing is very faded and the paper is very thin.
