Our Collection

At the Institute’s core is the Gilder Lehrman Collection, one of the great archives in American history. More than 85,000 items cover five hundred years of American history, from Columbus’s 1493 letter describing the New World through the end of the twentieth century.

Davis discusses Knox's lands and possible buyers, particularly about the Duck-pond lands. Much depends on whether the "timber and wood has not been intirely plundered." Davis offers Knox his help if Knox wants to sell his land, but Davis insists he needs more information in order to process things.
