At the Institute’s core is the Gilder Lehrman Collection, one of the great archives in American history. More than 85,000 items cover five hundred years of American history, from Columbus’s 1493 letter describing the New World through the end of the twentieth century.

Appointing a surveyor to settle a dispute over lands within the Waldo patent. Some of the lands recently granted to Waldo's heirs were withing the holding of the Plymouth company, and this overlap must be resolved. Also signed by Samuel Phillips, John Avery and Edward Robbins. Identical text to GLC02437.09264.

Edward H. Robbins was the Speaker of the Massachusetts State House of Representatives, and later Lieutenant Governor of Massachusetts.
Increase Sumner was the Governor of Massachusetts.

The arrangment with the Secretary at War is on a Separate Sheet of paper, and we aut for your perusal only - until the decision of the President relative to it is announced - With that Esteem and regard which you know I feel for you, I remain

P.S. From the best recollection I have of them, the Secretary at War is <?> with a list of field and other Officers of the late Army of most celebrity from whence to draw the field officers for the corps to be raised.
