At the Institute’s core is the Gilder Lehrman Collection, one of the great archives in American history. More than 85,000 items cover five hundred years of American history, from Columbus’s 1493 letter describing the New World through the end of the twentieth century.

Wilson had gone to find Green Adams again, but he had left the area. Wilson had wanted something delivered to Rome, GA, but was having difficulty because Rome "was not within the lines." Wilson asks about Augustus. Evidently, he had gotten into some sort of trouble after the close of the war.
