My Dear Friend

This will be delivered by Mr. Tobias Lear, late Secretary of the President of the United States. I need only tell you that his integrity and Abilities gained him the unbounded Friendship of the President & the esteem of those who have had an opportunity of knowing his conduct and Services. I am of that number & therefore I say that he is deserving of your notice, of your Friendship and of your best, advice, assistance & services - and to these points I recommended him.--
Yours Sincerely
