The humble Adress of Robt Livingston
Sheweth
That he was Encouradged to advanse [struck: his] £1304:12:1- for the subsisting their Maj[es]tys forses Imployed in the Reinforceing of Albany, upon the Exspectation that [struck: at the time] he should be reimbursed [struck: when] at the time when they should be discharged from that servise, but [struck: May] so it is that the Coffers of the Treasury [struck: are] [inserted: being] Empty whereby your Excell[enc]y servant is disapointed - and being Considerably Indebted to severall Merchants who gave him Credite to Enable him to supply the said forses, who press him [inserted: now] very hard for their Money: And your Excell[enc]ys servant being likewyse moved from the good affection he bears unto their Maj[est]y and their Governmt under your Excell[enc]ys Administration, was Indused for the [inserted: further] security of the said frontiers to make a farther Considerable advanse of his estate, [inserted: & Credits wherein many poor people are concerned] to the value of £835:18:3- is the whole whereof doth amount to £2140:10:4- [struck: Ther] doth Therefor Humbly pray your Excell[enc]y that some method may be taken for his speedy satisfaction otherwyse he shall be [struck: ever] disabled to [doe] their Maj[est]ys the Like servise for the future and [inserted: be] likewyse unable to suport his reputation [inserted: since] Constrained to sinke under his present pressures if [not receifed] by your Excell[enc]ys Prudent directions all which is humbly submitted by your Excell[enc]y Most
