One letter from Frances Davenport to Mr. J.A. Mead dated June 20, 1864. Admits that it is very hard for her to feel reconciled to "this severe affliction that God has brought upon me". Says that her husband was her all in this world and she cannot say that she was willing to give him up, even for her country.
