Writes briefly about the uncertainty of where the regiment is headed next.

1/2 past Eight Sunday evening Yours of the 21st is just received, how & when it came I cant tell, but it has made fearful bad enough. I was very careless to write anything about going to Texas for I have no idea we shall & only meant to give it as a camp rumor. I think it more likely that we go to Charleston, N.Carolina, or many other places but of course I know nothing about it & probably shall not until we arrive where we are going but where ever I go I am in the Lord's keeping & He can preserve me as well in one place as another. I will perhaps add a line in the morning.
