Writes with instructions on where to send his new trunk. Also complains that a box he was expecting is most likely being enjoyed by another regiment and is unlikely to reach him.

Apl. 26 P.M. after toast & rice.
Have sent off one letter & find I have a word or two more to write. About direction of trunk. I think better leave off - via Fortress Monroe - & write Capt. Chas M C Co. B 8th Regt Conn vols. Burnside's Department of North Carolina. then very likely it will take ship at New York. I ask you to pay what Express you can because I think they are then more particular about the prompt delivery. Please take receipt & send it to me. I hardly know how the keys should be sent whether with trunk or by mail after locking trunk. The Hospital box from Norwich has not been heard from & it is probable that my coffee therein will benefit the Hawkin's zouaves (9th N York) at Roanoke more than the Capt of Co. B. I would be very much obliged for another installment. The coffee we get of the commissary lately has been very poor. The Regt will probably be fully supplied with potatoes and every thing in the way of rations in a day or two as a schooner loaded with stores for us can come in at the Fort. The sail over to day was delightful, a good stiff breeze, three miles over & three back. The horseback rides I enjoyed so much at Carolina city were not very numerous, did not ride more than half dozen times Are you all perfectly well you dont say particularly - please write particularly about finances. Respt & Belovedly Chas
