Dear Mother, I arrived here this morning having been wounded in the shoulder and think I am doing nicely. The ball passed through the shoulder and is lodged in the side. I would like very much to have you with me but you must do as you think best about coming. My wound is in the right shoulder which prevents my writeing.
Your aff son
Chas
