Dear Sam:
Your letter recd. The only news I have had from Willie is a card announcing his marriage & a pamphlet with his picture wh. I sent to Chinn. I have written to him three times since I got the card - no answer - As my letters were not returned to me he must have recd. them. I suppose he now has no further use for me. I came here last Monday. Have been most kindly treated, but so far have kept in the house. Dr. Lynch who is attending me says he can cure me. I expect to stay several weeks & hope to go back well. The sisters take good care of me. In a few days I shall call on Mrs. General Stuart & on Will Burke. The letters were well I wd. not go to see him. He is now a wreck. You seem from your letters very much a friend that you will write me something. A storm is raging on the coast- when it is over I shall run over to Va. Beach. Was Col. William ? had to the Pacific Coast? How does Josie like it? I came here for mild weather but have run into a blizzard. But it will only last a day. I suppose Col. Wm. will stay in California until the close of Woodrow's term next march. If Hugh's is nominated he will carry Va. ? got a phone from Mrs. Genl. Stuart asking me to dine with her tomorrow.

Yours Truly
